I love my salt and pepper hair, says Jim Sarbh

- Akshay Kaushal

With his experimental takes on style and impeccable dressing sense, actor Jim Sarbh is fashion’s blue-eyed boy right the moment. The 31year-old is seen on every other glossy regularly and has also played the muse for many Indian fashion designers. In a tête-à-tête, the actor dishes out his style secret and what he thinks makes him so desirable. What defines your personal style?

It is mostly laid-back. When I am not going for a red carpet event or making an appearance, I am mostly seen in my denim, tees, half shirts, shorts, flip-flops, and sneakers. I have a minimalistic approach to fashion.

How would you dress up for your ideal date?

An ideal date depends on the setting. If it is a highend restaurant, I would pick a semi-formal shirt neatly teamed with fitted trousers and a pair of oxford shoes. And if it is by the beach, which I prefer for a date, I would opt for a pair of trunks and a sleeveless tee.

Who’s your favourite menswear designer?

I have a few. I like Gaurav Khanijo, Pero by Aneeth Arora, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Anuj Bhutani and 11.11 / Eleven Eleven clothing.

What’s the secret behind those amazing fashion shoots?

You know, personally, I dislike photoshoots. But whenever I am on the sets, I make sure that I am not conscious and move around freely depending on my mood. The moment the photographer intrudes with his/her own reference, that’s when I think my pictures come out bad.

Who inspires you when it comes to fashion?

English singer David Bowie and American Singer Kurt Cobain.

One tip for your style admirers? You should make a statement in whatever you wear. Half the battle is won when you are confident about what you are wearing. Like, I love my salt and pepper hair, while most think that it makes you look old. If it is there it is there and I love to flaunt it.
