Credited with several blockbusters, actor Sanjay Khan was touted as the handsomest in Bollywood during his heydays. Today, looking back at his journey from the 1960s and 1970s, he recalls his career as a combination of hardwork and good luck.

“People achieved success because of either luck or sheer hardwork. I won’t be able to answer with certainty if it’s hardwork or a hand of good luck [in my case]. I have worked hard, and was also destined in a way,” he says.

The 77-year-old, who gave hits such as Dosti (1964), Ek Phool Do Mali (1969), Trimurti (1974) and Nagin (1976), never let success affect him.

“When I signed Dosti, my first film, it became a blockbuster, and I got popular. Producers lined up to sign me. I was branded as the most handsome actor in Hindi films. But, I didn’t allow all these things to affect me. I have been lucky and at the same time, I worked very hard to achieve what I did in the industry,” says the veteran.
