‘REAL FACES MORE IN DEMAND THAN GOOD LOOKS’
Actor-model Khalid Siddiqui opines that to survive in the industry, talent is more important than just good looks. He shares that even the advertising industry, that once demanded goodlooking models, has now shifted their focus to those who are capable.
“I think good looks definitely help but it’s not like half the battle is won because of how you look. If the character demands good looks, then you have an advantage. In fact, once upon a time in the advertising industry, good looks were a necessity. Without being goodlooking, you couldn’t get into modelling. But now the scenario has changed. People look for real faces rather than good-looking faces,” he says, adding that one needs to work on oneself as there are no short cuts in the journey.
Khalid adds that he gives “more importance to inner beauty rather than outside appearance”. So, he prefers staying close to people who are positive.
Ask him about his favourite actors who he thinks look good and Khalid is quick to reply, “Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, because of the kind of people they are, their intelligence, and commitment to their work. I think all these make a person good-looking.”
