‘I never gave out a sense of desperatio­n or vulnerabil­ity’

Actor Nora Fatehi, who has been steadily climbing up in Bollywood, is happy that she got it all on her own. However, being an outsider, she had to wait patiently for her spot in the limelight.

In the initial days, did she ever come across people who tried to take advantage of her vulnerable situation? “I am lucky I haven’t had to meet people of those kinds who smell desperatio­n, who smell vulnerabil­ity. That’s one of the things I never gave out. I was confident in my talent, and knew that it will all happen one day, slowly,” she replies.

She was also careful enough to proceed with work cautiously. “I have always been represente­d by an agency, and never went anywhere alone. I also never discussed my deals or projects with anyone. I am not saying that those kind of people don’t exist; they do. Luckily I didn’t have to face it all,” explains the actor, who will be seen next in Salman Khan-starrer Bharat and Batla House alongside John Abraham.

Nora has earlier shared screen space with John in Satyameva Jayate’s (2018) song, Dilbar. Talking about the experience, Nora says, “I was very serious when I went to the sets on the first day. Everyone was like ‘Why are

you serious?’ I said ‘Because it’s a serious film!’ My song did really well, and now I have a role. If you are good, you climb up the steps, and it feels good. The success feels appreciate­d and dignified, since you worked for it.”
