This movie recovered its cost before its theatrical release

They say that the films don’t flop, the economics of the films do. Actor -businessma­n Sachiin Joshi, has ensured that his next, Amavas, slated to release today, has its economics in order. According to sources, the makers have already recovered the money spent in making of the film through various rights (satellite, digital and music) for Hindi and Telugu. The makers ensured that the theatrical release is a bonus and the budget was recovered even before the film’s release.

Talking about the same, Sachiin says, “It is important that the budgeting is done wisely. We are happy that we have already recovered the investment­s. The theatrical release will boost the profit. We want to make this genre viable so that more technicall­y-sound horror films can be made.”

Not only this, the actorprodu­cer is also keen on taking the film forward as a franchise and the second film in that series is going to be announced officially soon.

Amavas, a horror film, stars Sachiin Joshi along with Nargis Fakhri. This movie with a thrilling suspense has high-level VFX and has been shot at Castle Goring in Sussex, England, which is said to be haunted.

Produced by Viiking Media and Entertainm­ent in associatio­n with Simply West UK and Weeping Grave, directed by Bhushan Patel of 1920: Evil Returns (2012), Ragini MMS 2 (2014) and Alone (2015) fame, the film also stars Vivan Bhathena and Navneet Kaur Dhillon along with Mona Singh and Ali Asgar.
