Womaniya, a song that celebrates womanhood

-

Bollywood has seen a rise in films revolving around the emancipation of women. One of the latest ones to join the league is Saand Ki Aankh. The trailer of the upcoming movie has garnered a lot of attention, and its music has gradually emerged as a power-packed album.

One such fun and spirited song to have been released from this album is Womaniya. Composed by Vishal Mishra, sung by Vishal Dadlani and penned by Raj Shekhar, Womaniya mirrors the central themes of the film — celebrating womanhood, breaking stereotypes and rebelling against unfair norms.

Mishra, the composer, says, “When I first composed Womaniya, I knew it was a special song. I can’t wait for people to feel the energy, exuberance and power of the song. It has been a beautiful journey composing this song and I am eager to know the reaction of the listeners.”

Shekhar, the lyricist, says, “The song is a celebration of womanhood in all its glory. It is the voice, which is mostly unheard in the maledominated society. It is a tribute to the struggles of our grandmothers and mothers.”

Anurag Bedi, EVP and head, Zee Music, says “As music partners, we are proud to be associated with such an album. Womaniya symbolises feminine energy and will appeal to the masses.” Releasing this Diwali, Saand Ki Aankh is an inspirational journey of India’s oldest sharpshooters, Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar. Presented by Reliance Entertainment and Anurag Kashyap, in association with Chalk And Cheese Films, the film is directed by the scriptwriter, Tushar Hiranandani and stars Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. The drama is produced by Reliance Entertainment, Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar.
