NOT IN A HURRY TO SIGN MY NEXT FILM
Pranutan Bahl isn’t keen to sign a film that she feels is ‘substandard’
After getting mixed responses for her debut film Notebook, newbie Pranutan Bahl, daughter of actor Mohnish Bahl, is busy honing her skills and not in a hurry to sign her next film for more screen presence. The actor has made a conscious decision to choose projects that would convince her and make her feel happy .
“I’m considering a few feature film scripts that have come my way. It is at a very nascent stage right now so I would not be able to reveal much about it. I’m really excited and looking forward to what the future holds for me. I’m not in a hurry to sign my next film,” Pranutan says.
Busy enhancing her acting and dancing skills, and spending time with her friends and family, the 26-year-old is excited to get back on set. “My driving force behind acting is the ultimate high that I feel in front of the camera. What matters is I need to be happy and be proud of my choices. I don’t want to work in a film that I feel is substandard or isn’t exciting enough,” Pranutan shares.
Though the question What’s next? keeps popping up, the actor doesn’t let the pressure of audience’s expectations bog her down.
“The anxiety and pressures don’t set in because of what people expect from me. If I let other people’s expectations set the bar for me, I’ll always be chasing. It isn’t about how much you are working back to back. Bollywood isn’t a product manufacturing system. As long as I’m giving good performances and happy about it, I’ll be at peace and not in a mad rush and say ‘Oh God, let’s sign a film quickly’,” Pranutan says.
After a short tryst in Bollywood, the key takeaways, she says, are, “Every opinion doesn’t have to be taken seriously. And keep your friends and family close always.”
