Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt’s last film Ghost may not have got the desired results at the box office, but that doesn’t deter him from experimenting with the craft. Though a lot of his films didn’t do well in the past, he never fails to come back with a new offering.

This time, the director is going to dabble with cybercrime in his next film Hacked, which marks the Bollywood debut of actor Hina Khan.

“Sometimes I’m successful, sometimes I’m not. Nobody likes failure. I’ve been through the usual grind where people have stopped answering my phone and thought that my career was finished. You don’t have it in you anymore, and you aren’t worth anything anymore. People would be amazed to know how many times my career’s obituary has been written in the industry,” says Vikram, adding, “But I’m that flock bird that keeps coming back, much to their amazement, and will continue to do so.”

Having worked on the web series Maya, which deals with the concept of sexual fantasy and social bias, a lot of people began stereotyping Vikram Bhatt’s work. But, the 50-year-old disagrees.

“I have tried to do different work all the time and it is only good content that works, not bold content you are making. Because it is a bold topic, you feel it is all bold and that is why it is being made. It is not just about being bold and titillating the audience, it’s about having social staking,” says the filmmaker.

“It isn’t that if you have enough bold scenes in a film or series, people will come to watch it. The days of selling films on sex are long over. The reason for that is the internet that contains content they want to see. They don’t really need to go to movie theatres,” he signs off.
