‘I feel so proud when I call myself a TV actor’

Jasmin Bhasin is unlike actors who are moving away from TV as they are losing interest in doing longrunning shows or featuring in similar roles. Once associated with such a show herself, she says she feels all the more attached to a project and craves to be a part of the same till it ends.

“If I do a show which goes on for a couple of years, I would get so attached to it that I’d not feel like leaving it at all. This might sound different, but yes, that’s the kind of attachment that I develop,” says the actor, who has been seen in shows such as TashanE-Ishq and Dil Se Dil Tak.

Strangely, Jasmin is also not looking to switch to OTT projects just because everyone else is doing so. “I’m very happy doing television. In fact, I tell people that I feel so proud when I call myself a TV actor because I know the amount of hard work and dedication we put in... and the kind of quality we produce within that limited time, is amazing,” she adds.

Does it mean that the big screen or the web are off the radar for her? “If I get interesting offers from both the platforms, then I won’t let them go. But I’m not running after them. Right now, my television work is keeping me busy. In both films and the web, I’d like to do the kind of work which would get me recognition as an actor,” Jasmin says.

As a performer, that’s the most important thing for her. “Also, I should be comfortable in playing the role,” she explains, adding that she ensures she doesn’t feel any monotony by taking rejuvenating breaks in between.

“I plan to take breaks whenever the work gets monotonous, after all we are humans and we all need enough rest to lead a healthy life. For artistes, it’s necessary because we need to refresh our brain from time to time to let the creative juices flow freely. That I’m being able to pursue the two things, acting and travelling, to my heart’s content, makes me feel like the luckiest person,” she ends.

If I do a show which goes on for a few years, I’d get so attached to it that I’d not feel like leaving it at all.
