Tina Ahuja hasn’t limited herself to Hindi films. After debuting with Second Hand Husband (2015), the actor starred in the Punjabi music video Milo Na Tum. Ask why she’s taken her time in choosing projects, she says, “I honestly never planned for films.”

Tina, who’s the daughter of actor Govinda, goes on to say, “After Second Hand Husband, I started working with my dad. I did Fry Day (2018) with him, where I was the head of designing. Coincidentally, while working on Fry Day, my latest song, Aaj Ki Heer, came to me. I always wanted to be part of something that I feel comfortable in. I always go by my gut feeling. I like to do things which make me happy. I have a short film coming up. It is about true incidents that happened with a Mumbai girl. It’s a young and fresh story.”

She further says that it was, in fact, only three years back that she chose films as a fulltime career. “I was not that keen to get into films. Agar movies aate hain, unka release hona bhi zaroori hai.

Every film is good and they deserve to be released properly. That time, I was not too sure about getting into Bollywood. It was in 2016 that I started taking up films. I worked on myself as I had put on weight. Working with papa eventually happened. It’s not that I have sent messages to people for work. I always feel I will work only when I get good work,” adds Tina.

How her latest song happened is an entire story in itself. She reveals, “There are a lot of adventures associated with it. I was getting my costumes from London and accessories from Mumbai. Then, we got to know that the shoot starts the next day, and we got to know this at 4pm the previous evening! My stylist and I rushed to the market, shopped till 10pm, had dinner at 11pm, and reached home at 2am. Then we left for Goa. There was a storm in Mumbai, and we were scared that there would be turbulence. Then, in Goa, we got to know there was a chance of a cyclone. You see us enjoying ourselves in the video, but we were all scared in reality!”
