Versatility is most important for Sharad Kelkar

After being a popular television star for more than a decade, Sharad lkar is now set to make his rk in the movie business. e actor, who played the agonist in Housefull 4, s he’s looking forward to exploring diverse characters in films. He has no fear of being “typecast” as an antagonist, for he feels that times have changed.

“These things used to happen, but the industry has evolved a bit now. Directors and producers are more broadminded. They want to portray diverse characters through actors and want to tap the potential in actors. It’s a good change that has happened,” he explains.

For Sharad, the most important virtue an actor can possess is that of versatility. “As an actor, it’s essential to explore different parts, both good and bad. If I keep doing similar roles, I won’t grow.

It is important for me to do something new everyday. This has reflected in my career graph too, so far. I like experimenting a lot and you’ll keep seeing that with my film choices. I might be good at something and bad at other things, but I want to try out everything,” he says.

Having dubbed for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) and Hobbs & Shaw, Sharad says he’s looking forward to dub more.

“I love dubbing. I get to play different characters and it is fun. It’s important for me to enjoy my work. In the evening, when I finish work and go home, I shouldn’t crib about what I’ve done throughout the day. Happiness is very important. I want to go home being content about creating something. It (dubbing) is a different ball game altogether,” he adds.
