‘Ready to switch to travel-for-work mode to balance work and home’
From doing films in both Bollywood and down South, actor Shilpa Shirodkar has been a part of number of successful ventures. Unlike her initial years, the actor now prefers balancing her career and family. And it’s also the main reason why the actor’s been taking short breaks between her films and TV shows – to be with her daughter and husband at their home in Dubai.
Before she went on a small hiatus, Shilpa played one of the lead parts in the TV show Savitri Devi College and Hospital that went off air in 2018. Sharing her keenness to be on the TV again, the 46year-old adds, “TV had been really kind and accepting. People still recognise me as Kamla, my character in Ek Mutthi Aasmaan. I still get a lot of TV offers. It is just that I cannot move back to India right now. I am looking at projects which would require me to travel for 15 to 20 days for shoot. I would do that

happily and come back to Dubai to be with my family.”
The actor is equally enthusiastic to be a part of big screen and web.
“I started my journey with cinema, so I would absolutely love to do films. I am interested in being a part of the web as well. It has been churning such amazing content; also the reach of this platform is wider. I think both films and web fit my travel-forwork criteria. I am keeping my options open… When you get something unexpected that’s the best,” she. Interestingly, Shilpa also hints at her plans of collaborating with sister Namrata for a project. This project will also mark a comeback for Namrata, who was last seen in the 2004 Telugu film Anji “Namrata and I have been planning something interesting. And as I said we are at a planning stage right now and have been trying to get the right direction before we come out and announce the project. This is something close to our heart,” Shilpa concludes.
