FEBRUARY’S ARTSY AFFAIR
There was a melange of ideas and free-flowing conversations when art aficionados from different walks of life got together for an art exhibition, Sculpt For Delhi - III,. The exhibition, which focussed on creating public awareness for art, saw the works of multiple artists showcasing unique paintings and sculptures depicting history, memory, metaphors or moods.
“I always draw from my imagination and show a journey through my art. My artwork will have different layers of work, showing many scenes and times. I enjoy working in mixed media and multiple art forms,” says artist Naresh Kapuria.
To this, artist Brijesh Verman adds, “I’m writing a book on the Sumerian culture, and while doing my research, I found this uniform writing on which my entire painting and sculpture is based.”
Those present at the opening were election commissioner of India, Ashok Lavasa, chief secretary, Delhi, Vijay Kumar Dev ,DG ICCR Dinesh K Patnaik,
curator Neeraj Gupta, art critic Uma Nair, artist Ranjeeta Kant, Kathak exponent Shovana Narayan among others.
