The emergence of digital platforms has given actors a wide array of choices and also the chance to venture into territories which they haven’t earlier. Yogita Bihani is also making the most of this new development, as an actor as well as a viewer.

“I neither have time to sit in front of the TV and watch shows nor can I regularly watch films in theatres. The web is very convenient for me as I can watch any episode, anytime and anywhere. I can utilise the time when I’m travelling,” explains the actor, who has been a part of TV shows such as Dil Hi Toh Hai and Kavach... Maha Shivratri.

Yogita, who is part of the third season of Dil Hi Toh Hai, which released on an OTT platform, feels that with increasing mediums, actors, besides there being no saturation, are getting better opportunities to showcase their talent.

“The web caters to a large number of audience and there’s a variety of work available. TV caters to a limited audience, mainly housewives and small towns. Films do have a bigger reach but then again there is the time frame of two hours,” she shares. But often, with a web series, it’s seen that content can get a bit bold and out there to a point that it feels like they’re nothing more than mere titillation.

“Of course I’m not comfortable doing (such projects). I can do anything but not something that makes me uncomfortable. For me, if there is such a scene or moment then it has to be there to serve the purpose of the storyline and shown in an aesthetic way, without it looking vulgar and obscene,” says Yogita, who is now also looking forward to doing films.
