Motherhood has brought about a change in the type of roles that the actor chooses to do
Actor Eva Mendes’ love for acting continues, but she knows it within her heart that her choice of roles has undergone change ever since she has become a mother. In an interview, Mendes spoke about how motherhood has limited her choices on screen, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“Acting is something that I will always love. It’s just like now that I have children, I’m kind of extreme.There’s just so many things I won’t do. Like I won’t do most of the movies I’ve done in the past. A lot of things are off that list. I don’t want to do anything too violent. Of course, I don’t want to do anything too sexual or sexual at all,” said the 45year-old actor, who’s a mother of two. And if at all, she was to choose between playing the role of a villain or princess, she’s clear about what she would take on. “I’m more of the villain kinda type of girl. I’m more of the Ursula type ... I like the villains of the Disney movies. They’re fun,” Mendes added.
She has also expressed her desire to star in the sequel of the 2005 film Hitch, which saw her along side Will Smith. Mendes, who starred as the strong and witty Sara Melas opposite Smith’s Alex Hitchens, said she is finally ready to say “Yeah” to a sequel to the rom-com.
“You know what? It’s time for a Hitch 2.Will, let’s do this. Hitch 2,” she said, adding, “Now in the world of all these dating apps, what would Hitch do? He’d be out of a job,” Mendes added. Directed by Andy Tennant, Hitch is one of the mostloved rom-coms of all time.
