I JUST WANT TO TRY EVERYTHING, SAYS RADHIKA

With no particular medium in mind, Radhika Madan is here to explore everything if the content is exciting. The actor, who smoothly transitioned from TV to films, is ready to even go back to the small screen. And give theatre a try as well.

Explaining how charged she is to try “everything interesting” that comes her way, she adds, “Put me anywhere, I just want to try everything in life... Before being an actor, I was a dancer and choreographer. I know the feeling of performing on stage when there are no retakes. There is no point in restricting myself to doing just one thing. I am greedy for good roles…”

Having made her acting debut in 2014, with Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, a show on television, she continued to work in the medium for twoand-a-half years. The actor looks back at her initial phase with a lot of gratitude. After all, that journey “prepared” her for the big run.

“I have done TV for two-anda-half years and I can be a part of it again, as long as I get an offer that excites me and makes me jump out of the bed in the morning. That’s important, and that’s also the reason why I moved from TV to films after I felt something was missing,” she says, adding that doing something for a long time does bring monotony.

While Madan plays Irrfan’s daughter in the upcoming Angrezi Medium, her other film, Shiddat, is an out-and-out love story. Apart from enjoying the arclights, she also likes the “process of writing” and ends up taking notes whenever she has something in mind.

“I mostly write poetry… Those are for me. They are the outcome of the time jab main aur meri tanhayi, aksar yeh baatein karte hai… (laughs). And I don’t know if I’ll be able to publish them, but for now I’d like to see how it goes. I also enjoy the process of making music, I have a friend in the industry and I have tried being a part of her process at times and loved it. I might do a workshop on making music and would love to take a step ahead if things work,” she adds.
