WHY JASMIN ENJOYS THE STRUGGLE FOR RIGHT PROJECTS

Jasmin Bhasin is focusing on roles that will help showcase her different aspects as an artiste

Jasmin Bhasin recently exited an ongoing supernatural show on TV and is in no hurry to sign her next. Before we think otherwise, the actor clarifies that she has no intention of shifting gears to films or web. She isn’t “desperate to make the move”, but if good offers come her way, she’d love to consider them. However, she is “definitely not leaving TV” anytime soon.

Talking about the struggles an actor faces while searching for the right project, Bhasin says, “It’s never-ending, I guess. As performers, we’re hungry to do something new, but that doesn’t happen very often. However, I do enjoy the struggle because at times, something unexpected comes your way and you end up rediscovering yourself.”

The actor, who has done shows such as Tashan-e-Ishq and Dil Se Dil Tak, adds that at this point, she is only focusing on roles that will help her showcase different sides to her. The 29-year-old says, “I wish to do a modern day love story or portray the role of a girl of today’s

time showcasing the obstacles and challenges she faces in the 21st century.”

To be specific, Bhasin wants to play characters her age and won’t mind trying an out-andout negative role, because “doing the same thing can get very boring”.

Given how many have pointed out that TV isn’t churning out good quality content, the 29-year-old hopes things would soon change. “I think we should look at more progressive content. There’s less content catering to the youth, so we should focus on that as well. Not just the look of the show but the actors, too, need to look better. Everything is clearer and brighter in HD, so good hair and makeup are a must, or else it won’t look good and convincing on screen,” the actor adds.
