During a time when almost the entire world is in lockdown, there’s something that’s going viral for a good reason. #24hoursChallenge or #PositivityChallenge is doing rounds on social media with an aim to spread positivity among the masses, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In the past few days, the constant news of rising death toll has been demoralising people. So in an attempt to uplift people’s moods, many Bollywood celebs are also actively participating in the challenge.

Actor Nimrat Kaur put up one of her sassy pictures on Instagram, while tagging 10 others to take up the challenge, and wrote: “#24HOURS: Too often, some people find it easier to criticize each other or themselves instead of building up each other. With all the negativity going around, let’s do something positive! Upload one picture of yourself, only you…then tag 10 lovely ladies to do the same (sic)”.

Soon after, actor Dia Mirza took up the challenge and tagged 10 others in her post, including actor-model Malaika Arora, who posted a picture of herself relaxing on the sofa. Singer Sophie Choudry, while accepting the challenge, wrote: “Here’s a pic of me in my fave city before all these lockdowns. Praying things go back to normal soon.” Later, she told us over the phone, “I was nominated by a few friends for the positivity challenge. I believe that we are in this together, and the only thing that will keep us going is positivity, and lifting each other up. We are all finding ways to stay connected.”

And with celebs spearheading the challenge, social media users are excitedly participating in it. Diksha Saxena, a Delhi-based entrepreneur who also joined the challenge, says, “This is a pretty cool challenge, and the idea behind it is very noble. I posted my work from home pic, and told myself that I need to be positive. This too shall pass.”
