A LOCKDOWN DATE THAT DOESN’T END!
Matt Robertson and Khani Le from New York City met on a dating app, and after two dates, decided to take an adventurous trip for five days. And then the lockdown happened and their short trip turned into the longest one of their lives! The couple is stuck in Costa Rica for the last 60 days, and they intend getting matching tattoos of the Costa Rican expression Pura Vida - “simple life”.
COMPASSION OF ART
Our reader, 21-year-old Ka ran Verma from Inderpuri, Delhi, is a Covid-19 warrior, too. He makes pencil sketches to raise funds for PM CARES. People send him their favourite image on Instagram that he turns into a sketch, and in return, they send him a contribution. "I always wanted to put my art to good use and I'm glad God gave me a chance," says Karan. It's heartening to see such drive in young people.
THIS IS THE INDIA WE LOVE
Members of the Sikh community set a heartwarming example of religious harmony as they sanitised Jama Masjid in Delhi, ahead of Eid. The mosque authorities were touched by their gesture, and thanked them wholeheartedly. This is what defines our identity, the India entwined in our soul.
A MESSAGE OF LOVE AND PEACE
Eid is the occasion to celebrate our oneness in diversity. Despite being socially distanced, we have come close like never before! Be one, be united, said Amitabh Bachchan in his Eid message on Instagram. He urged all to pray on this auspicious day for peace, harmony, friendship and love. Sonam K Ahuja also shared an Eid message, hoping this year's trials lead us to a better tomorrow. Amen!
THIS PAPAYA IS TRULY A STAR
Our reader, Kamal Jit Singh, found a star-shaped papaya and it reconnected him with longlost friends! “This papaya made my day! I could not stop clicking and sharing it with everyone, even those I had not been in touch with for ages,” he says. The lockdown has helped us find joy in little, everyday things. Nothing in life is to be taken for granted, not even celestial papaya!
KHAKI TUJHE SALAM
Someone sent this picture of ASI Ratan Singh, feeding pigeons, to Gunjan Anant, SHO Amar Colony. These feathered little fellows gather on the footpath to enjoy their meal served by Singh. “Ever since the lockdown started, people could not feed birds. So Singh took charge. He saves a portion of his salary and uses it to feed birds while patrolling around the city,” says the SHO.
