Spirituality, yoga, kitchen remedies help Sonal find her inner glow
The pandemic has given us the opportunity to redesign our lifestyle and inculcate habits that go a long way in keeping us healthy, happy and calm. For Sonal Chauhan, creating art work has been therapeutic in these trying times.
The actor has always had a deep connection with Lord Shiva, right from her childhood. She says, “For me, as a child, god meant Shiva, he was the face of god. And over the past one year, my faith in him has gotten stronger. The amount of strength that I derive from him is just indescribable. He has always been my guiding force. I feel like he is my protector.”
Exploring her spiritual side and sketching Lord Shiva on paper has helped her keep her mind positively engaged, calm and peaceful. “Art is indeed healing and a great stress buster. For me, it worked wonderfully well in the pandemic, “says the actor.
Chauhan has also been going out for jogging and cycling on certain days in a week. “It’s such fun. I soak up some fresh breeze while I work out outdoor, which is very rejuvenating. When it’s raining and I can’t go out, my gym is my yoga mat and I make sure that I do surya namaskars daily. Yoga has helped me sail through these
Once you are seated in a restaurant, you can remove your mask while eating. But don’t just pull it down and let it hang around your chin or keep it on the table. Keep it in your pocket or a bag. Also, extremely testing times.”
She also recommends yoga for everyone, saying, “Some kind of physical exercise is important for mental agility. Yoga gives peace, happiness and most importantly, clarity of thought, which has become a prerequisite to survive in this world.”
Chauhan’s radiant skin is the result of not only her exercise regime, but also her diet. “I have been making detox juices such as cucumber and lauki juice, which really help my skin,” she reveals.

for your skin. “Fruit peels are jam-packed with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that are great for the skin and free from harmful chemicals, too. I rub banana, lemon or orange peel on my face. That helps impart a natural glow,” she adds.
