Kangana’s office demolished
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday demolished allegedly illegal portions of actor Kangana Ranaut’s Bandra office for what it termed ‘structural violations’. The ground plus-two building houses the Manikarnika Films Private Limited office. Ranaut, who left her Himachal Pradesh home for Mumbai on Wednesday, tweeted pictures of the demolition, writing: “Babur and his army #deathofdemocracy”, “Pakistan.... #deathofdemocracy”.
Claiming that there is no illegal construction, she wrote on the micro-blogging site, “There is no illegal construction in my house...Bullywood watch now this is what Fascism looks like...”.
However, soon the Bombay High
Court stayed demolition, according to PTI. On Tuesday, BMC had issued a notice to Ranaut over structural violations in her office, asking her to respond within 24 hours, failing which “the illegal portions” would be demolished. Ranaut’s lawyer wrote to the BMC seeking seven days to respond. The HC asked BMC to file a reply on the actor’s petition.
Ranaut, who slammed the Mumbai Police probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, shared a video after reaching Mumbai, showcasing her office after the demolition. She also posted a video addressing Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and said, “Uddhav Thackeray tujhe kya lagta hai k tune film maafia sey milke mera ghar todke mujhse bahut bada badla liya hai? Aaj mera ghar toota hai, kal tera ghamand tootey ga... Aur mujhe lagta hai ki tumne mujhpe bahut bada ehsaan kiya hai kyunki mujhe pata to tha ki Kashmiri pandit o pe kya beeti hogi aaj maine mehsus kiya hai...aur Uddhav Thackeray yeh jo krurta aur yeh jo atank hai achha hua hai yeh mere saath hua hia, kyunki iske koi maine hai. Jai Hind. Jai Maharashtra”.
