PET GALA: A POOCH PARTY TO REMEMBER!
Doggos in Delhi-NCR got to spend a stupendous Sunday morning when the Golf Course Road was reserved for them
Labrador, Shih Tzu, German Shepherd, Poodle, and indies were among the 15 breeds found running and rolling on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road, last Sunday. Having the time of their lives, these furry friends were participating in the event, My Pack Playground. And, it was a sight to behold!
The 3km stretch on this road was converted into a doggo zone for the event. And though it was originally scheduled for an hour, starting 6am, the pet parents from Delhi-NCR couldn’t get enough of it!
“It was supposed to be over by 8am but went on till 9am. We had to ask people to leave (laughs),” says organiser Atin Suri, adding, “The Gram sessions of pet parents with their bundles of joy were the icing on the cake... The event was not just about them coming, and leaving their pet to play with other dogs. People actually participated. There was a dog who was unable to get into a 16ft-long tunnel, but as soon as the parent got into it, he followed. That’s the kind of bonding we wanted to create with this event!” Gurugrammer Nishtha Dutta, who took her beagle Layla to the event, says, “I wanted my dog to interact with other dogs. Beagles love to sniff around, solve puzzles, and it was a big playground for her to do everything she wanted.”
And Gurugrammer Amit Arora adds, “I took my Golden Retriever, Frado, and honestly, I didn’t expect to have such an amazing experience! Frado did some activities that he had never done earlier. He even socialised with other dogs, and we ended up clicking lots of pictures!”
E-rickshaws enabled pet parents to travel up and down the stretch as their pet pals had a blast. “We also had a sketch artist make sketches of pets. And there wasn’t a single dog fight, as their safety was our priority,” adds Suri.
