There is a lot of backend planning that goes into conducting shooting during Covid times,” says filmmaker Faruk Kabir, who has been shooting in Lucknow for over a month for his next.

Kabir explains that he and his team are doing everything possible to keep the sets Covid-free. “One has to maintain strict vigilance on the set and follow the new standard operating procedures and protocols. We sanitise the set constantly, do daily health and temperature checkups of cast and crew and ensure everyone is wearing a mask always. Apart from this, we have ensured that a considerable part of our crew, almost 90 people, are fully vaccinated.” When the second wave hit, they had to stop shooting and they took the tough decision to push the shoot by two-and-a-half months. Kabir shares due to that break, everyone got enough time to get the second jab. He adds this is the new normal and we should not let our guard down as the world is not Covid-free yet.

Kabir, who is shooting with Vidyut Jamwal for the film, admits the impending third wave is a concern. “Each individual should be vigilant so that everyone around them is taken care of. We’re not shooting with a large crew and giving actors different call times, to avoid over crowding. It is tough to constantly wear a mask, but these are few sacrifices one does. We hope everyone remains safe,” he adds.
