Does OTT space give more freedom to filmmakers?
My experience has been very positive. Thanks to the OTT space, I think we filmmakers now feel we can take more risks with the kind of stories that we want to write, and the kind of content that we can present to the audience. Of course, in that sense it is a medium with more freedom. There are no restrictions in terms of budget or in terms of what will work or what won’t.
There is just so much that I can now do here as a filmmaker, which I wasn’t able to pursue when I was only making theatrical films. And not just me, I know that every filmmaker feels the same way. After all filmmaking is about creative expression and OTT platforms provide that in abundance.
