There is no right age, or right time, to follow and realise your true calling. Blogger Shivesh Bhatia, who is known for his baking skills and food photography, realised his true calling at the age of 16. “I got introduced to baking during a particularly low phase in my life – I had just shifted schools and was still in the process of settling in. Things weren’t great at home since Nani had a stroke and was in and out of hospital for a few months. An impromptu baking session with my cousins one night brought me more joy than I had felt in a long time,” he reminisces.

While the cupcakes were burnt to a crisp, the process of putting them together had him hooked to the idea of baking. Though, at that time, he never knew what started as a hobby will turn into something so huge.

“After I sent in the material for my first baking book to my publishers, I had a phase where I would constantly question myself and feel I wasn’t doing enough. That led to applying for a post grad course. Two months into it, I realised my heart was in pursuing my career as a content creator,” he says. It was then that he took to blogging fulltime and his Instagram followers went from 200k in 2019 to 600k at present, with a thriving YouTube channel and two published books to his name. “For me, the most important thing is that I am doing what makes me truly happy everyday!” he confesses.

His next is a children’s cookbook. “The idea is to encourage kids to enter the kitchen at a younger age and experience the joy of making something from scratch,” he adds.
