Yoghurt and pickles can prevent serious diseases, claims study
According to researchers at the Stanford School of Medicine, USA, adding a few fermented foods such as yoghurt, fermented pickles, cottage cheese and kanji can help in the prevention of several serious diseases. “A diet rich in fermented foods enhances the diversity of gut microbes and decreases molecular signs of inflammation,” says the study. The results were concluded after a clinical trial which includes 36 healthy adults, who were randomly assigned a 10-week diet that included either fermented or high-fibre foods.
