fter a period of low sales, the festive season is seeing shoppers return to their favourite Janpath market. This street fashion hub is popular not just among DelhiNCR residents but many visitors from other states, too. Gulshan Gupta, a Bhopal-based college student looks no further when it comes to “buying for the Gram”. Gupta says, “I’m not a local but Janpath is where I used to shop before the pandemic, when in Delhi. With the festive season on, I’m here to shop like old times.”

Sisters Aanya and Vaishnavi Thukral, were spotted window shopping. “We are looking for souvenirs that you get at Janpath,” says Aanya.

The shopkeeper­s are hopeful too. “After being closed all through 2020, market has opened fully. It seems like sales will improve due to festivitie­s,” says Arbind Narula, a shopkeeper at the Janpath market.
