‘AN OUT-OF-THEBOX THOUGHT’

Tabla player Bickram Ghosh feels the idea is “pretty funky”. He elaborates, “The roads of India would sound like an orchestra, with tabla, shehnai... but I’m not sure how that would impact traffic because people are used to hearing a certain shrill, non-musical sound for a horn. It is used in urgency, and needs to grab people’s attention. But instead, if you have a sitar’s sound, I don’t know if it would impact traffic. This would be amusing. It’s quite an out-of-thebox thought. While it’s okay for a ringtone, a car horn is a different case!”
