Festive boost for domestic travel
With the onset of festive season, domestic travel sector is showing the signs of revival. In the month of October, rail bookings surpassed pre-Covid numbers. According to a news report, the data from the Indian Railways says, the net passenger booking (reserved) in the first eight days of October this year stood at 225.95 lakh, nearly 74% more from 130 lakh bookings in the same period of 2019. Moreover, the demand for air travel is also seeing a surge, with more people opting to take a flight.
