Covid-19, being away from family has taken a toll on Esha, mentally
Wsugandha.rawal@hindustantimes.com hile actor Esha Gupta is recovering from Covid-19 in Madrid, Spain, her family in Delhi is also fighting the virus. And, being away from them at this time is not only making her feel helpless, but also taking a toll on her mental health. “The fact that I’ve been down with fever and cough for two weeks and have lost my sense of smell has made me paranoid and cautious about my health. My whole family is down with Covid-19,” says Gupta.
The 36-year-old tested positive earlier this month, and is in isolation with her Spanish beau, Manuel Campos Guallar. “My partner and I both have Covid-19. So, it is not so bad, as I have him around, but I feel it has taken a toll on me, mentally, since it’s almost been two weeks of the slowest road to recovery. Plus, I can’t travel to be with family.” she confesses.
Gupta adds that she never thought she’d contract the virus. “I thought I’d be saved from getting the virus. Even during its peak in India in January, I was shooting in Kolkata. And, while shooting for another series, we had cases on the set, but my team and I were safe,” she tells us.
The actor has had a lot of realisations during this phase, too: “I feel free time should be utilised to learn new talents. I have been learning astronomy.”
