SI use the experiences I have had in Delhi in my craft. I really miss the city. SURAJ SHARMA, Actor

uraj Sharma, who grew up in Delhi’s Greater Kailash 2 (GK 2) and spent leisure time in Alaknanda, says he carries all the memories of the city in his heart. The actor adds that the memories also reflect in his work in India as well as Hollywood: “Being from Delhi, the people I met while growing up in GK 2 and Alaknanda [had a huge impact on me]. I got to understand them and that gave me more perspective. I have learnt a lot from my experiences in Delhi and I use that in my craft.” The actor, who caught everyone’s attention in the West with his Oscarwinning debut film, Life Of Pi, in 2012, adds, “I really miss Delhi. I need to be back soon.”

On the work front, Sharma was last seen in How I Met Your Father — a spinoff of the cult show, How I Met Your Mother — which opened to mixed reviews. He likes to accept criticism with as much zeal as praise. He says, “We didn’t think that we’d be accepted just like that (get only positive reviews). I understand that perspective [of people who were critical and compared the show to the legacy built by How I Met Your Mother] and want us to earn our stripes. I want to do more of this (the show) and watch people’s opinions change, hopefully for good.”
