‘Sports must beawayof life, teaches Amit Saroha’
Club and discus thrower Ekta Bhyan, 36, says her biggest inspiration is Arjuna awardee Paralympian Amit Saroha — a former hockey player and para-athlete — who “mentors and coaches para athletes while being an active athlete himself”. “He introduced many persons with disabilities, especially from rural areas, to para sports. Many of his disciples are medallists at national and international level. His work has made him a source of motivation for not only persons with disabilities but for everyone. Sports must be a way of life where we push our mental and physical boundaries to bring positive change,” says the Tokyo Paralympian.
