Farhan Akhtar is all set for his Hollywood debut
Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar is all set to feature in the series Ms Marvel. Details regarding Akhtar’s character are under wraps, though his participation has been touted as ‘a guest-starring’ role in the first Muslim superhero series, Deadline reported. The project will be the actor’s debut Hollywood project. However, the 48-year-old has not posted anything about his role yet.
Back in September last year, there was buzz about Akhtar heading to Bangkok, Thailand to shoot for an international project. But no other details were disclosed as the project was strictly under wraps.
His wife, actor-host Shibani Dandekar-Akhtar shared a screengrab of the news, and captioned, “Beyond proud of you (sic)”.
Recently when the trailer of the series was unveiled, Akhtar was not spotted and neither was actor Fawad Khan, who had earlier confirmed shooting for the series. The series is one of the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects. It introduces actor Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, the titular character, who is a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City, USA.
“Kamala is an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe with an oversized imagination — particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson in the MCU). Yet Kamala feels she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home, until she gets superpowers like her idols,” the official plotline read.
