AN ACTIONPACKED INNINGS
It was an easy win for Delhi Police at the CP Delhi Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament 2022, as they successfully chased the target of 127 runs, with seven wickets to spare. Held in Delhi, the tournament saw the participation of 14 teams from various departments, including BSF, CISF, ITBP and CRPF. The finals took place between Delhi Police XI and Daman and Diu Police XI at the Sports Ground, New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp. On the same day, Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, also inaugurated the newly-constructed cricket stadium.
“This is the first cricket tournament of this stature and active participation of all departments is commendable. We are planning to organise tournaments every year to keep sportsmanship alive in the police departments. I am grateful to the Sports Ministry for supporting us,” said Asthana, confessing that cricket is his first love.
Among those in attendance were Arvind Kumar, IB chief and Balaji Srivastava, DG, BPR&D.
