Jim Carrey

The 60-year-old, best known for comedy films, is “fairly serious” about retiring after his appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. “I’m retiring. Yeah, probably. I’m being fairly serious. It depends, if the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might continue... but I’m taking a break,” he told Access Hollywood.

Pamela Anderson

There are speculations that actor Pamela Anderson is silently stepping back from the screen. The 54-yearold has shifted the focus of her career outside of Hollywood, and that is making everyone wonder if it spells retirement. According to thethings.com, she is focused on Broadway, and recently revealed that she has long-term aspirations on stage.

Mark Wahlberg

Actor Mark Wahlberg is weighing on retiring from acting “sooner rather than later”. In an interview to Entertainment Tonight, he admitted that spending time away from his family is getting hard. And that is making him think about retirement. “It’s got to be something special to really bring me to leave home, because it’s the biggest sacrifice in the making for sure,” Wahlberg, 50, said.

Sandra Bullock

It’s family time over acting for Sandra Bullock. The 57-yearold is stepping away as she doesn’t want to miss motherhood. While she has not officially retired, Bullock announced that she is taking an indefinite break from acting. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she explained that she needed to be “in the place that makes her the happiest”. “I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and family. That’s where I’m going to be for a while,” said the mother of two.*

Maurice Benard

General Hospital actor Maurice Benard is considering retiring from acting. The 59-year-old has starred on General Hospital for around 30 years. “Acting isn’t what it was when I was young… Sometimes it’s difficult and it hits me in places that I don’t like .... Acting… I don’t know when, but soon enough I’ll be done with it,” he admitted. “Sorry. I hate to say that, but it’s the truth,” he said on his YouTube Channel.

Henry Thomas

Actor Henry Thomas shot to fame with E.T. (1982) as a kid. But he quit showbiz for a quiet life at a farm. “I was famous and that was strange... I had never considered that as part of the deal. That wasn’t why I got into it, and it was strange being treated differently overnight. It made me very suspicious of people in general,” Thomas told Yahoo! Entertainment. The 50-year-old was last seen in To All the Boys: Always and Forever (2021).

Adrian Grenier

The Entourage actor is a strong advocate of climate change. Grenier, 45, admitted “making it” in Hollywood was initially a “load of fun, and amazing while it lasted”. “I found myself in a stage of my life where I had to change. I had to deal with the personal things I had been avoiding,” he told Austin Life about his decision to retire from Hollywood.

Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz, 49, stepped away from acting after two decades in Hollywood, and she continues to get offers to lure her back to showbiz. But it seems retirement life is suiting her. “It wasn’t and still isn’t a total forever thing. But once the decision was made, Cameron never really looked back. She’s had numerous offers but politely declined them each and every time,” a source told Us Weekly.
