After speaking in public about experiencing suicidal thoughts following a failed relationship, actor Adaa Khan says, “I am not totally averse to the idea of relationship, love and marriage.”

Khan was in a relationship with actor Ankit Gera for nearly four years. They parted ways in 2018. “If someone comes into my life, I am definitely open to it. I have not shut doors to anything. Aisa kuch nahi hai ki I do not want to fall in love. If you feel a connect with someone, it means it’s there. But at this point in my personal life, I am pretty satisfied and happy being with my family. No matter what you go through in life, at the end of the day, it’s your family who is there for you and that’s extremely important,” she tells us, adding, “When the time is there, InshaAllah, I will get married. Like I always say, I believe it’s all about destiny.”

Ask if she misses anything about being in a relationship, and Khan tells us, “Every phase has its pros and cons, but I am enjoying singlehood. I am very happy.”

The 33-year-old adds, “Right now, I am very busy focusing on my career.”

In a career spanning 13 years approximately, Khan has experimented with all kinds of roles — positive as well as negative. The actor says, “It was because of my love for experimentation as an artiste that I never feared being typecast. I have always made conscious efforts to play versatile roles and every actor including me loves that. Every actor, including me, has shelf life. Make sure you make the best out of it.”
