The 1998 film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya remains a much-loved Hindi film even today. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that actor Arbaaz Khan, who played the role of Vishal Thakur (Kajol’s brother), continues to feel the love that it received back then.

“Aapne mujhe bataya ki 25 saal ho gaye hain tab mujhe pata chala. But it feels like it’s gone by in a heartbeat, itni jaldi nikal gaya yeh time. Pata hi nahin chala,” exclaims the actor.

Khan cannot overlook what made the film special in the first place. “It’s a film that remains close to our hearts as this is where we three brothers aligned for a project for the first time. The film was directed by my younger brother, Sohail. Of course, Salman was already a star. We had a lot of fun. Log bolte hain na ‘it was a family-like atmosphere on the sets’. Humara toh actually tha! We were producers, director and actor in it! Dharmendra (actor) ji bhi the,” he recalls.

The film’s music, he remembers, had caught on big time. O O Jaane Jaana and Tum

Par Hum Hai both were chartbusters. “Gaane toh itne hit the hi, mere dialogues bhi kaafi hit hue the. Logon ko woh pasand aata hai,” Khan shares.

The 55-year-old says it feels nice to be part of films that are remembered even after decades. “When we do films, we don’t think whether it will be remembered after so many years. You shoot on time, do your work sincerely and then hope that people will like it. But, when it is well received, it feels good to know that you have left some impact, even if it’s small,” the actor says.
