With colours in the air and Holi fervour running high, actor Akansha Ranjan Kapoor recently headed to Delhi’s Lodhi Garden with us for an exclusive shoot where she revealed what she loves about the festival and her connection with the Capital.

FIRST TIME’S THE CHARM

Revealing how she’s celebrating the festival for the first time in Delhi, the Guilty (2020) actor says, “It was so much fun to shoot for Holi. I had never celebrated Holi in Delhi, it’s only with HT City that I did. I love Holi, but I am a water conservationist. But the colours, hanging out with everyone and the yummy food, that I love.”

BACK IN THE DAY

For Kapoor, Holi has always been the time of the year to attend lively parties and indulge in fun balloon fights. “When we were in school and college, people used to throw Holi parties. We used to put oil in our hair and skin to go and hang out at somebody’s house. We used to play music, colour each other and not to mention, the balloon fights! Woh bachpan ki Holi ki yaadein humesha yaad rehti hain,” she reminisces.

WHERE THERE IS FOOD, THERE IS FUN

The 30-year-old admits that she likes to have sweets and snacks on festivals. “It’s the peda that I look forward to. That’s my staple for Diwali and Holi, and mainly the pani puri. Gujiya is not a thing in Mumbai, I know in Delhi it is. Every festival is incomplete without food. Diet goes for a toss, but I need to enjoy myself to the fullest,” she quips.

THE CAPITAL CONNECTION

When it comes to her love for Delhi, the actor shares that the connection goes way back. “My family is from Delhi. My whole childhood was spent here. It is basically my second home. When I was here for Guilty’s shoot, I didn’t want to go back [to Mumbai]!” she tells us.

DELHI FAVES

From food to weather, there’s a lot Kapoor loves about Delhi. “I really love the food, not just the roadside stuff, but also the bars and restaurants. The weather is also so nice, you can dress up well. Back in the day, I used to go to the Khan Market all the time,” she ends.
