IT’S INDIAN PALATE LEAGUE ALL OVER AGAIN
Restaurants all over India are bringing back team-inspired menus and exciting deals on food alongside IPL screenings
Like every year, cricket season has those who enjoy their game and their grub, flocking in droves to restaurants serving IPL-themed menus, live screenings and enticing deals on food.
Debuting eight new dishes on their limited menu, SOCIAL has brought back its #DoosraStadium campaign. “Our trademark SOCIAL Stadyum menu features entrants such as Majama Titans Platter, Howzat Chapli Tacos, Mad Madras Chilly Platter, Luru Fried Prawn Popcorn and more, alongside a host of all-new LLIITs,” shares Shamsul Wahid, group executive chef, Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt Ltd.
On similar lines, Café Delhi Heights’ special IPL menu celebrating the spirit of the game, has “beer buckets and an assortment of mouthwatering dishes,” informs co-founder and director Vikram Batra. Gola Sizzlers, on the other hand, has live screenings and a quirky menu boasting dishes as Kolkata Knight Riders Crispy Chicken Sizzler and Mumbai Indians Spring Rolls, among others, that are sure to appeal to the loyalists. Mumbaibased Golden Chimney has on offer a tandoori spread for screenings.
Team-inspired small plates are also on offer alongside refreshing cocktails and deals on drinks at live screenings — at Badmaash in Mumbai. Their Bowled Over menu (till May 29) offers Pitch-er Perfect cocktails such as Master Blaster, The Thala, Kung Fu Titants and Gabbar ka Punjab, not to mention specials named Chauka & Chakka where diners get great deals on beer whenever a four or a six is hit. Additionally, the restaurant will provide a prediction card where guessing the winning team’s name before the first ball is bowled, entitles diners to discounts as high as 30% on the bill.
In Bengaluru, Hops Haus’ exclusive cricket season menu, also on till May 29, has unlimited craft brews starting at ₹999 (Whitefield) and unlimited draught beer at ₹999 (Embassy One) for match screenings. “Knowing that most guests come to Hops Haus for drinks, I’ve ensured that our menu offers easy-to-share dishes complementing our beverages,” says chef Vikas Seth.
The Bhawanipur House, Kolkata, has put together exclusive combos and deals, too. Owner Vishnu Sureka says, “It encourages customers to stay longer, socialise and enjoy the game. We have had tremendous interests around the IPL team-based mocktails. Also given the fact that we have a special pricing for the IPL menu, starting at ₹99, many youngsters and college students find these prices easy on the pocket.”
