Influencers and skin experts weigh in on the trend of wearing makeup during workouts
While putting on some lipstick and light foundation before going out doesn’t hurt, it is best to skip the glam if the gym is where you’re headed to. Remarking on the trend of wearing makeup during workouts, Dr Trishna Gupte, clinical cosmetologist, says, “A lot of celebrities may opt to wear makeup to the gym to maintain a certain look in case they’re spotted or photographed. Additionally, makeup can also serve as a form of self-expression or a confidence booster, helping women feel empowered during workouts.”

Some might wear a touch of mascara and a little concealer to hide a few spots, but in my opinion, mixing even a slight amount of makeup with a strenuous workout facilitates an ideal environment for bacteria to grow and clog pores resulting in acne and breakouts,” he says, adding that “it is imperative to understand the importance of allowing your skin to breathe while working out”.
