With ‘Collaborating right’ KSHMR felt just

- Sugandha Rawal Tagra

Singer and DJ Sahil Sharma, popularly known as Zaeden, recently collaborated with American DJ and composer KSHMR on the latter’s new single. Zaeden feels that alliances such as Aawara, which also features pop artiste King, help him evolve.

“You get to understand their creative process and perspective towards a form of art that you’re equally a part of,” he tells us, adding, “It is also a great way to bring different worlds together through art you’ve created together. Collabs give the music a chance to reach a wider audience, making it something truly special.”

Talking about the collaboration the 28-year-old shares, “KSHMR and I have known each other for eight years and always wanted to work on something together. We cooked up [the track] when he was in India working on his album. He played some beats that he worked on and Aawara stood out to me.” From then on, the process was effortless. “The melody was done in no time and it just felt right — the moment we had the first demo, we knew we had something really special,” he explains.

When it comes to his own music, Zaeden says he has

“been trying to follow a different process”, adding that he is going back to his roots. “I’m playing more with desi rhythms on my new project. I’m really excited for everything to come,” he ends.

For me, collaborations are the best way to learn, especially when you’re working with an artiste in the same space. You get to understand their creative process and perspective towards a form of art that you’re equally a part of. It (a collaborative track) is also a great way to brings fans and different worlds together through a piece of art you’ve created together. It gives the music a chance to reach a wider audience, creating something truly special.
