Spilling the beans from his meeting with Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer earlier this year, Indian javelin throw Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra said the former is a fan of Indian food. “I asked him if he had visited India and if he liked Indian food. So he told me, ‘Indian food is in my top 5’,” Chopra revealed at a media briefing recently.

TAKEOUTS INCREASE AS HOME COOKING DECLINES: REPORT
New data from the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation and ICICI Securities shows a visible decline in home cooking among Indians over the last 10 years. Middle-income families’ spending on processed food went up from 16% to almost 25%, while urban households spent half their food budget on processed items, compared to 41% a decade ago.
