Actor Alia Bhatt is elated to have made it to a coveted annual list of 100 most influential figures in the world.

On Wednesday, New York City-based Time Magazine unveiled its 100 most influential people of 2024 list.

Heart of Stone (2023) director Tom Harper, who collaborated with Bhatt on the film, penned his thoughts on the actor and described her as a “truly international star”.

“There is a grace to the way she goes about her work: focused, open to ideas, and willing to take creative risks. One of my favourite moments in the film came from an improvisation at the end of a take where she took the emotional thread and ran with it (sic),” Harper wrote.

Bhatt then took to her Instagram handle to share her excitement on being part of the list. “Honoured to be a part of the #TIME100 @time Thank you dearest #TomHarper for your kind kind words (sic),” she wrote.

Last year, Bhatt won several accolades including her first National Film Award for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022). In 2023, she also made her Hollywood debut with Harper’s film that stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.

Meanwhile, the list also features wrestler Sakshi Malik and Indian-origin actor Dev Patel, whose profile was written by Get Out (2017) and Nope (2022) actor Daniel Kaluuya.

“Dev radiates goodness. His humanity shines through every time he graces the screen, leaving you no choice but to root for him even when his character is doing something foul; his presence makes you understand where he’s coming from,” Kaluuya wrote as he lauded Patel’s latest release,
