Following a viral collaboration post on her account, actor Ragini Khanna dispels rumours that she has converted to Christianity
Actor Ragini Khanna recently stirred speculations about her religious identity after accepting a collaboration request on Instagram. The user in question photoshopped Khanna’s face, making it seem that she was getting converted to Christianity.
Clarifying her stance on the situation, she tells us, “My entire page is full of such collaborations. I have no idea why I am receiving so many requests. I don’t like rejecting these messages,” adding, “Though I was born and raised as a PunjabiHindu, I believe in all religions”.
However, Khanna remains unclear as to why the post was created. “I don’t know why they made it, maybe they saw me in a church and thought I converted. I don’t know the reason and I don’t know this person at all. Suddenly, I was removed from the collaboration, so I don’t know what’s going on,” she adds.
Strangely, the social media user went on to show Khanna wearing a hijab in their next post. “Maybe people started bashing them after the Christianity post, so they tried something else. I didn’t get any collab request for the second post, but social media par kuch bhi hota hai aaj kal,” shares the 36-year-old best known for her role in the show Sasural Genda Phool.
Despite the frenzy, Khanna asserts that she doesn’t view the situation negatively and will continue holding on to her religious beliefs. “I have no issues if somebody sees me as a Christian or a Muslim, but I’d like to clarify that I have not changed my religion, I am strictly a Hindu. love my religion and I have deep respect for other religions as well,” she notes.
While accepting requests of collaboration on social media platforms has become a norm, Khanna acknowledges that one needs to exercise caution. “This is a lesson learnt and I will definitely be more careful from now on. I love and respect all my fans but accepting collaborations will be a tricky thing now,” she ends.
