Mandi Ahmedgarh doctor tries to rape woman patient
A doctor at the civil hospital, Mandi Ahmedgarh, has allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of a pregnant woman. The doctor fled from the hospital, as soon as the woman raised an alarm and screamed for help.
The police have registered a case against Dr Jagjit Singh, following a complaint filed by the patient. The woman visited the hospital on April 23 for an ultrasound after being referred by a doctor at a private hospital.
According to the complaint made by the 20-year- old victim, she visited the civil hospital along with her mother Baljit Kaur and father-in-law Major Singh on April 23 for
CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER DR HS BALI SAYS HE HAS MARKED AN INQUIRY TO SENIOR MEDICAL OFFICER an ultrasound. Dr Jagjit Singh gave her two pills and took her to a room. She asked him to call a woman doctor, but he denied. The doctor then allegedly tried to rape her. She resisted and shouted on this wrongful act. Her mother and father-in-law rushed into the room, the doctor then fled the scene.
SHO of Mandi Ahmedgarh police station Davinder Singh said, "A case has been registered against the doctor and the police have been conducting raids to arrest him, but he is at large."
CMO Dr HS Bali said he had marked an inquiry to senior medical officer.
