Mandi Ahmedgarh doc­tor tries to rape woman pa­tient

A doc­tor at the civil hospi­tal, Mandi Ahmedgarh, has al­legedly tried to outrage the mod­esty of a preg­nant woman. The doc­tor fled from the hospi­tal, as soon as the woman raised an alarm and screamed for help.

The po­lice have reg­is­tered a case against Dr Jagjit Singh, fol­low­ing a com­plaint filed by the pa­tient. The woman vis­ited the hospi­tal on April 23 for an ul­tra­sound af­ter be­ing re­ferred by a doc­tor at a pri­vate hospi­tal.

Ac­cord­ing to the com­plaint made by the 20-year- old vic­tim, she vis­ited the civil hospi­tal along with her mother Baljit Kaur and fa­ther-in-law Ma­jor Singh on April 23 for

She asked him to call a woman doc­tor, but he de­nied. The doc­tor then al­legedly tried to rape her. She re­sisted and shouted on this wrong­ful act. Her mother and fa­ther-in-law rushed into the room, the doc­tor then fled the scene.

SHO of Mandi Ahmedgarh po­lice sta­tion Davin­der Singh said, "A case has been reg­is­tered against the doc­tor and the po­lice have been con­duct­ing raids to ar­rest him, but he is at large."

CMO Dr HS Bali said he had marked an in­quiry to se­nior med­i­cal of­fi­cer.
