GADVASU PROF GETS RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
A professor from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University ( GADVASU), Ludhiana, has been joined as the 'fellow' of Indian Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Research (IAAVR).
" Dr Charan Kamal Singh has been awarded the IAAVR fellowship along with Dr Gaya Prasad, assistant director general ( animal health), ICAR, New Delhi, for the year 2012," said an official statement released by the university on Thursday.
The national fellowship of IAAVR is prestigious and is awarded on the basis of competitive score card, where scientists having excellent professional achievements at national and international level to their credit are awarded.
"Since IAAVR is a multi-disciplinary organisation, scientists from various departments compete for the fellowship at the national level," it added.
Dr Singh, who is a noted expert in the field of rabies, has earlier been the fellow of the Academy of Sciences for Animal Welfare.
At the international level, Singh was nominated member of task force for the World Health Organisation for surveillance of rabies in Asia.
