T20 football tournament kicks off at PAU grounds
Pepsi is organising a two- day T20 football tournament at the football grounds of the Punjab Agricultural University.
Football players from various villages and cities of Punjab, such as Moga, Khanna, Phagwara, Jagraon, Sahnewal and Jalandhar, are participating in the tourney which began on Saturday.
The registration of the football teams was done free of cost at PAU. The organisers said this format of game involves seven players in each team of which five players participate in the game and two remain in the reserve category.
They added that 64 teams would play in the two-day tournament from which 32 teams
would be shortlisted. These teams would play at the MBD Mall next weekend from which one team would be selected that would participate in the grand finale at New Delhi.
The final winners would play
a football match against the Indian cricket team. The organisers plan to cover Ludhiana, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Chandigarh, Banglore and Mumbai under this campaign.
