G. H. G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy
T h e C o l l e ge, housed in a magnificent three storeyed building with 42,000 sq. ft. roofed area was established in 1984 with two years Diploma in Pharmacy course with the aim to provide job potential to youth and better health care facilities to the rural, downtrodden and weaker section of the society. The foundation of this building was laid by H'E. Late Sh. V.V. Giri, President of India in 1971. A rare combination of Life President Late S. Bakhtawar Singh Gill, a selfless and devoted social worker with a deep sense of architectural acumen ship and mission, and founder Principal S. Manjit Singh Khattra with an unique sense of commitment and with a rich experience of educational administration gave a boost to the devel- opment of this institution. .The present managerial and administrative team headed by Sh. Manjit Singh Gill, President, Governing Council, is putting in its earnest efforts to achieve the objectives of the college. The ambience of the college campus synchronises well with the words of Sh. Prem Bhatia, formerly Editor- in- Chief, The Tribune Group of Newspapers as under:" A Wonder in Rural Setting". Eight batches of B. Pharm. holders have successfully been produced by the institute. The alumni are well placed in industrial, and other professional academic sector. The courses are recognized by the statuary bodies PCI and AICTE. The College is headed by Professor V. K. Kapoor, Former Dean and Chairman University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh with an experience of more than forty years in teaching and research. Professor Kapoor is also the Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy and allied of the Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.
