BCM Arya school or­gan­ises coastal cleanup pro­gramme

A coastal cleanup event was or­gan­ised by BCM Arya Model Se­nior Sec­ondary School, Shas­tri Na­gar, on Fri­day.

RBS Roots (NGO), and three other city schools, in­clud­ing Spring Dale Se­nior Sec­ondary Pub­lic School, Nankana Sahib Pub­lic School, Bal Bharati Pub­lic School took part en­thu­si­as­ti­cally to spread the mes­sage ‘love and re­spect wa­ter bod­ies’.

Car­ry­ing school ban­ners, plac­ards students ex­pressed their con­cern by paint­ing their faces.

All students were grouped and given data cards where they ob­served the de­bris and noted the items thrown.

Students spread the mes­sage of not throw­ing non-biodegrad­able items such as glass frames, met­als, poly­bags and other items into the rivers or canals.

The event was held un­der the project of Ocean con­ser­vancy, Wash­ing­ton DC and In­dian Maritime foun­da­tion, Pune.

Prin­ci­pal Paramjit Kaur ex­pressed grat­i­tude to all par­tic­i­pat­ing schools and ap­pre­ci­ated the work done by students in spread­ing the mes­sage in a spir­ited man­ner.
