ITC foun­da­tion stone laid at CIPHET

The foun­da­tion stone of an in­ter­na­tional train­ing cen­ter (ITC) was laid down on the cam­pus of Cen­tral In­sti­tute of Post Har­vest Engi­neer­ing and Tech­nol­ogy (CIPHET) on Satur­day.

The premise is expected to come up at a likely cost of Rs 1.25 crore.

ITC would be hav­ing state of the art fa­cil­i­ties, in­clud­ing con­fer­ence hall, multi me­dia cen­ter, a guest house for en­trepreneur­ship de­vel­op­ment pro­grammes.

CIPHET di­rec­tor Dr US Shivhare said ITC would be a unique fa­cil­ity and would help in train­ing of farm­ers and en­trepreneurs com­ing from across the coun­try and abroad.

Shivhare per­formed the earth break­ing cer­e­mony and laid the STATE-OF-THE-ART FA­CIL­I­TIES, IN­CLUD­ING CON­FER­ENCE HALL, MULTI-ME­DIA CEN­TRE, GUEST HOUSE FOR EN­TREPRENEUR­SHIP DE­VEL­OP­MENT EVENTS TO BE PRO­VIDED AT ITC foun­da­tion of the build­ing.

Se­nior fac­ulty mem­bers in­clud­ing project co­or­di­na­tor SK Nanda, project co­or­di­na­tor PR Bhat­na­gar, head of trans­fer of tech­nol­ogy division Deepak Raj Rai, head agri­cul­ture struc­tures and en­vi­ron­men­tal con­trol (AS&EC) SN Jha, se­nior ad­min­is­tra­tive of­fi­cer Raj Ku­mar and of­fi­cials of the cen­tral pub­lic works depart­ment were also present on the oc­ca­sion.
